Library and archive collection

Housed at the historical Founder’s building and privileged by the wide range of donations from NGOs, institutes, and individuals in West Asian countries, CIWAS is going to establish its unique reference library and Archive collection in Islamic and West Asian Studies. Due to open in June 2018, the library will hold more than 20,000 original Arabic, Farsi, and English volumes of book. It also hosts thousands of pieces of archival materials, and digitised manuscripts which has not been accessible to the scholars in the west. The collection would reflect the academic aims and interests of the Centre and related teaching and research in the politics, history, philosophy, law, and classical and contemporary literature of the Muslim world and of West Asian countries.


Centre for Islamic and West Asian Studies, has set for itself the mission of providing a platform and facilitating the dialogue and interactions among scholars and researchers interested in Islam and West Asian from the east and the west. CIWAS Annual Conference with the motto of ‘Two Worlds, One Location’ aims to initiate this movement. Starting in February 2018, CIWAS Annual Conference, will be the convention for scholars to gather in Egham, in United Kingdome to exchange their ideas and to engage in debates concerning the current affairs of Islam and West Asia.
